Senior Full Stack Engineer As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Humana, you will architect, develop, and maintain robust software solutions across all layers of the technology stack-from database design and backend logic to intuitive front-end experiences. You'll tackle complex technical challenges, analyze and resolve multifaceted issues, and ensure high standards in code quality, security, and performance. The Senior Full Stack Engineer Is involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Application Development & Enhancement
    Lead development and maintenance of the CWP application, implementing backend ARM components and Next.js frontend modules, while building and optimizing reusable component pages for improved user experience.

  • Deployment & Migration Management
    Manage reliable deployments to Non Production (NPE) and PROD environments and oversee migration of application infrastructure from Cloud1 to Cloud3, ensuring adherence to Humana's approved cloud modernization standards.

  • Infrastructure & Security Oversight
    Administer app infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, and security controls, and coordinate exception processes for security policies through Humana ServiceNow as required.

  • Collaboration & Documentation
    Provide technical guidance and code reviews to teammates, maintain comprehensive documentation, and support seamless ongoing operations through cross-functional collaboration.

  • Technical Decision-Making
    Make informed decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues related to project components, ensuring optimal technical approaches.

  • Autonomous Work Execution
    Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and accountability.

  • Strategic Influence
    Begin to influence department strategy by introducing innovative solutions and best practices.

  • Collaboration and Mentorship
    Work closely with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • You must be authorized to work in the US without Humana sponsorship as Humana does not provide work visa sponsorship for this role.
  • 5+ years of experience with a focus on React.js & Next.jstechnologies.
  • 3+ years of experience in web application development.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience in using TypeScript
  • 2+ years of experience working with version control systems.
  • Solid understanding of tools (Jest, React Testing Library) for quality assurance.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GitHub version control systems.
  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Understanding of application security principles and best practices.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring junior team members.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$106,900 - $147,000 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
