Machine Learning Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a programmer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to solve problems to support the U.S. Space Force under the U.S. Department of War. As an AI Solutions Engineer on our Defense Technology Group, you'll develop AI-native solutions incorporating multiple disciplines spanning across software development, platform integration, and cloud engineering, and the latest AI tooling such as Bedrock or LLM, LangChain or LangGraph, Agentic workflows, and accelerating the missions with AI tools.

In this role, you'll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit AI technologies and emerging AI-native processes or workflows. You'll grow within a talented team of machine learning engineers across the company and collaborate with full-stack software engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and defense mission experts to deliver world-class solutions to deliver new software capabilities to our customers with high velocity. Your skills and technical experience will help your clients navigate the landscape of Agentic workflows, AI/ML algorithms, full-stack development, DevSecOps, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with artificial intelligence, data science, or machine learning engineering, including developing and deploying models

  • Experience with developing code using a common programming language, including Python

  • Experience with deep learning, computer vision, or generative AI

  • Experience with data handling and model development

  • Experience with leveraging AI productivity tools for coding, such as Cursor

  • Experience with the Agile software development lifecycle and full-stack web application development

  • Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, and HTML or CSS

  • Ability to solve complex and critical problems, iterate rapidly, and deliver results in both team and individual capacities

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with integration of LLMs and Agentic Workflows within software stacks

  • Experience with Rust, or Java

  • Experience with Python coding and libraries, including scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch

  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, and Palantir Foundry

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
