General Summary:

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs Radiographic procedures. Works collaboratively with members of the Imaging Services team and other departments throughout the facility to provide safe, quality care. Under the supervision of the Physician/Provider, assists in minor office procedures and injections, performs patient intake assessments, discharges patients from clinic and procedures, educates patient on procedures and medication changes, as well as new medications. Manages message center including taking phone calls off voicemail and entering them into EHR, accessing OARRS reports for clinic visits and for use with prescription proposals. Is able to calculate medication due dates based on OARRS reports and patient plan of care as established by physician/provider.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs radiographic procedures per protocols.  Reviews orders and verifies information to ensure the correct procedure for the associated diagnosis, annotates/labels images properly including proper patient identification, completes procedure according to protocol, and coordinates procedure with various departments throughout the facility.
  • This position is MA-heavy, with primary responsibilities centered on medical assistant functions, including patient intake, clinical support, and assisting providers.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with obtaining IV access and administers contrast media or other imaging agents as required, after an appropriate history is obtained.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with EMR and PACS, including proper documentation and charging.
  • Maintains procedure rooms for optimal efficiency to include stocking of supplies, disinfecting equipment, and disposing soiled linen and waste following hospital policy and/or manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Keeps equipment in proper working order and contacts service engineer as needed. Follows appropriate downtime procedure when equipment is not in working order.
  • Follows ODH and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Works effectively as part of the departmental team to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. This includes; attending and participating in committee meetings as required, utilizing automated systems to communicate, accepting and completing work assignments, and reporting to work on time and is at work station ready to work as scheduled.
  • Assist Physician/Provider with patient care as required.
  • Answer telephone calls and places calls as directed.
  • Documents all messages.
  • Conducts vital signs, EKG's, POC testing, and pain assessment. Reviews H&P and MAR.
