Job Description:

About the Role:

The SVP, Commercial Technology is a senior executive leader responsible for defining and driving the end-to-end strategy for commercial technologies that power Disney Experiences' global portfolio of theme parks, resorts, cruise, vacation, travel, retail, and consumer businesses. This role sets the vision for how commercial platforms, products, and capabilities enable revenue growth, guest engagement, and operational excellence across a diverse, highly integrated ecosystem of experiences and consumer touchpoints, ensuring technology is a strategic differentiator for the segment.

Responsibilities:

This executive is accountable for the financial and operational performance of Commercial Technology, developing and executing a cohesive strategy for platforms and solutions leveraged across Disney Experiences to support sales, distribution, pricing, inventory, and guest commerce journeys. The SVP provides full leadership for multiple Director and Vice President leaders and their teams, evaluates key business and organizational challenges, and delivers innovative, scalable technology solutions within broad company policies and strategies. Success in this role requires a strategic, influential, and persuasive leader with strong financial acumen, deep business insight, and the ability to inspire and align diverse stakeholders around a compelling technology vision.

  • Develop and continuously refine a segment-wide commercial technology strategy and roadmap that advances short- and long-term business goals for Disney Experiences, including theme parks, resorts, cruise, vacation, and consumer products.

  • Provide primary accountability for the financial performance of commercial technology platforms, including budgeting, investment prioritization, and value realization across multiple lines of business and regions.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership bench of Director and Vice President leaders, setting clear expectations, providing continuous coaching and feedback, and fostering a culture of growth, inclusion, and authentic leadership.

  • Inspire individual and business success by articulating and communicating a compelling vision for commercial technology that generates excitement, optimism, and a shared sense of purpose across teams and partners.

  • Define strategies, expectations, and priorities that translate business objectives into actionable technology outcomes, ensuring teams can activate effectively in service of those outcomes.

  • Evaluate complex business and organizational challenges and champion innovative, scalable solutions that align with enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards while advancing commercial capabilities.

  • Partner closely with senior business and technology executives to align commercial technology investments with segment and enterprise roadmaps, ensuring platform-centric, guest- and customer-focused solutions.

  • Promote a coaching mindset and open, honest communication, establishing ways of working that enable feedback to flourish and support career aspirations for leaders and their teams.

  • Model care and compassion, making people a priority and creating an environment where Disney values are experienced daily, encouraging creative problem solving and ensuring every voice is heard.

  • Ensure commercial technology organizations operate with strong financial discipline, risk management, and operational excellence, including performance metrics, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven executive experience leading large-scale technology organizations with accountability for commercial, commerce, or revenue-generating platforms in a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply deep business insight to advance organizational goals, particularly in travel, hospitality, retail, or consumer-focused industries.

  • Track record of developing and executing multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps that deliver measurable financial and operational outcomes.

  • Strong financial acumen with primary accountability for budgets, investment portfolios, and performance of technology functions, lines of business, or regions.

  • Exceptional leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead other executives and multiple layers of leaders, inspire high performance, and build inclusive, high-trust cultures.

  • Highly influential and persuasive communicator, skilled at engaging senior stakeholders, aligning diverse interests, and presenting complex technology and financial topics to executive audiences.

  • Experience overseeing delivery of highly integrated, scalable, resilient, and mission-critical solutions in heterogeneous technology environments.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead through change, setting clear priorities and driving execution across globally distributed teams.

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, including 7+ years leading managers and senior leaders in large-scale organizations.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or relevant technical master's) with a focus on technology management, strategy, or finance preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Executive leadership experience in commerce platforms and products/pricing/inventory domains supporting large-scale consumer or guest experiences.

  • Background in travel, hospitality, theme parks, or cruise industries, with familiarity in guest-centric digital and physical experience integration.

  • Experience leading organizations that leverage modern architectures (e.g., APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns) and cloud-based platforms at scale.

The hiring range for this position in Orlando FL is $369,500 to $495,500 per year.
