Position Summary: (General statements regarding the overall objective of the position)

The Brand Copywriter communicates the human side of the brand while educating, informing, and encouraging customers along every step of their financial journey. This person performs a key process role of composing and editing communications while capturing the intent and any mandatory requirements deemed necessary by Legal and Compliance.

This individual closely partners with product managers, communications partners, and leadership to execute work in a timely manner. This role creates a positive internal and external member experience with their creative writing, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (List in order of importance the essential functions of the job and the approximate percentage of time spent on each of the activities; describe what must be accomplished, not how it must be done; include supervision or management responsibilities, quality and quantity standards, physical, mental, and perceptual functions of the job)

Ideates and writes content that is always on tone with TDECU's brand image, identity, voice, and unique position in the marketplace to business and technical audiences.

Translates client objectives and creative briefs into compelling concepts, headlines, and copy.

Participates in project kickoffs, status meetings and creative reviews to stay aligned with the creative process and ensure adherence to timelines.

Sources, writes, and edits marketing content, including corporate and product marketing material, sales and promotional materials, digital marketing content to support the expansion and growth of the company's services and products, and other strategic content as assigned.

Identifies industry trends and opportunities for promotional content; commands persuasive writing style that generates interest in TDECU's services, value-added resources, and company culture.

Works with cross-functional teams to define content needs and contribute to editorial calendar development.

Researches, writes, and develops quality content across all TDECU's business units including email copy, scripts, digital and print advertisements, social media posts, retail signage and more.

Integrates keywords and phrases into online marketing copy; contributes to inbound and outbound marketing strategies.

Develops a strong understanding of our brand, our members, and their journeys, as well as our brand voice, tone and all its nuances.

Analyzes all marketing materials, website content, and publications for accuracy, voice, brand standards and compliance.

Utilizes data-driven insights to drive content strategy; optimizes content to improve KPIs and audience engagement

Maintains and updates templates and tools in accordance with Brand guidelines

Helps support and implement process improvement recommendations that focus on increased efficiency and reducing cost

Ensures communications remain in compliance with company policies and procedures and maintains internal audit document files.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent mix of education and experience required.

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in financial marketing, advertising, public relations, product development, or communications management.

  • Demonstrated financial marketing performance with knowledge of social media, online communications, traditional media-based marketing, public relations, brand management, and product management
  • Forward-thinking and creative individual with the ability to perform strategically
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate professionally at all levels including executive management.
  • Ability to provide tactical execution necessary to leverage growth opportunities and meets or exceeds our business goals
  • Ability to analyze marketing metrics and report on the impact on the business
  • Strong project, time, and resource management and problem-solving skills to deliver projects on-time in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a collaborative team environment and data-driven culture
  • Ability to draft short, long and everything in between to deliver compelling copy that motivates, inspires, and moves people to think and act differently and form new understandings.
