Job description
Candidates must have previous radiation management experience.
Essential duties include the following:
- Champions the company's H.S.E.&T program in all aspects of work performed to provide quality service in a safe and efficient manner.
- Manage the Company's Radiation Safety Program, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and industry regulations.
- Apply for, maintain, renew, and administer radioactive material licenses with state, federal, and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure Company locations possessing radioactive materials maintain qualified Radiation Safety Officers (RSOs) and Authorized Users in accordance with regulatory requirements, license conditions, company policies, and industry standards.
- Ensure Company locations possessing explosive materials maintain properly trained Responsible Persons and Employee Possessors in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, license requirements, and company procedures.
- Conduct compliance audits of licensed facilities to verify adherence to regulatory requirements, license conditions, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Develop, revise, and maintain Company Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, and supporting documentation related to Radiation Safety and Explosives Programs.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards, evaluate potential impacts to Company operations, and communicate recommendations to executive leadership.
- Maintain electronic records and regulatory documentation within Company systems to ensure compliance with record retention requirements and audit readiness.
- Lead and coordinate assigned special projects that support operational improvements, regulatory initiatives, technology implementation, and strategic business objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Operations, HSE, Engineering, Transportation, Legal, Environmental, Business Development, and other departments.
- Develop and deliver training programs related to radiation safety, explosives compliance, and assigned special projects.
- Investigate regulatory issues, incidents, and compliance concerns, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare reports, presentations, compliance metrics, and project updates for senior leadership.
- Manage departmental personnel, including work assignments, performance expectations, coaching, and professional development.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, compliance, operational efficiency, and quality.
- Communicate effectively with employees, regulatory agencies, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Performs any and all job duties as assigned by supervisory personnel including general labor, as necessary.
- This position is required to perform safety sensitive functions as defined in the CES Drug and Alcohol Plan.
