Job description

We are looking for a detail-focused Data Entry Specialist with experience in PowerSchool to support student information accuracy and day-to-day school operations. This is a Contract position within a non-profit environment, ideal for someone who can manage sensitive records, monitor key data points, and provide dependable reporting for school leadership. The person in this role will help maintain enrollment, attendance, and compliance information while working closely with staff and families to keep records current and complete.

Responsibilities:

• Manage student data systems by entering, updating, and validating information related to enrollment, attendance, behavior, and student records.

• Provide day-to-day support for school staff using PowerSchool, resolving data issues and helping users follow established procedures.

• Coordinate attendance tracking processes, review entries for accuracy, and assist educators in maintaining timely and complete daily records.

• Oversee student enrollment, re-enrollment, and withdrawal documentation while confirming required eligibility details and meeting established timelines.

• Maintain organized physical and electronic student files, ensuring records remain secure, accessible, and aligned with documentation standards.

• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on attendance, enrollment, compliance, and related school data to support operational and leadership decisions.

• Partner with school operations leadership and external stakeholders to submit required district, state, and federal reporting accurately and on schedule.

• Contribute to attendance intervention efforts by identifying data trends, highlighting at-risk students, and supporting follow-up action plans.

• Assist with additional administrative and operational projects as needed while serving as a key point of contact for student data matters.

• Experience in data entry, records administration, or student information management, preferably within an educational setting.

• Working knowledge of student data platforms such as PowerSchool or similar systems used for attendance, enrollment, and recordkeeping.

• Strong accuracy and attention to detail when handling high-volume data and confidential documentation.

• Ability to create reports, interpret data, and support compliance-related submissions for internal and external stakeholders.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff, leadership, and families.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with electronic record maintenance, filing practices, and general computer data entry tools.
