The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, able to multitask, and enjoys working with customers. A successful Pharmacy Data Entry Technician enjoys working with others in an effective manner, strives to always improve themselves, who is flexible and adaptable, provides quality service to customers, and understands what it means to be professional.
As a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician, your typical day would include:
  • Working as a collaborative team member to meet the service goals of the pharmacy
  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting all customers and providing quick and efficient service
  • Accurately enter patient information into the pharmacy database to assist with proper billing
  • Maintain a safe pharmacy environment by adhering to health code guidelines and corporate standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of the dispensing department
  • Know and follow all aspects of the Data Entry Department Manual
  • Thorough knowledge of medical records- HOA's, frequency codes, acute vs. routine orders, ancillary (rt. side) orders, non-med and med orders formats
  • Ability to input prescriptions for both ALF and SNF facilities for all types of orders.
  • Working knowledge of prior authorization requirements and narcotic prescription tracking, IV supply requirements, facility stock and per diem accounts and formulary interchange.
  • Maintain facility communication logs and follow-up on issues.
