You will work hands-on with conduit, fiber placement, splicing, testing, GIS-based documentation, and infrastructure records. In addition to field work, you will use GIS software systems to create, maintain, and update network maps—with 3-GIS as the primary platform. The role focuses on reliable execution, accurate records, and fast restoration of service during network events.

  • Design and schedule fiber installation, splicing, testing, and documentation work

  • Maintain splice records, GIS and KMZ files, and as-built network drawings

  • Create, edit, and update network design records within 3-GIS and other GIS platforms

  • Support emergency network restoration and mitigation efforts

  • Use industry-standard test equipment including OTDRs and visual fault locators

  • Create design layout records in a web-based environment

  • Install network and premise equipment in data centers and remote facilities when needed

What We’re Looking For
  • A dependable operator who follows process and finishes work correctly

  • Clear and direct communication with teammates, vendors, and partners

  • Strong judgment during outages and time-sensitive restoration work

  • Willingness to work on-site, in the field, and in varied conditions

  • A team-first mindset that supports shared network reliability goals

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 1-3+ years of experience supporting OSP fiber network design, installation, and documentation

  • Experience working in field environments

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally

  • Travel up to 25% and On Call for fiber damage/restoration

  • Valid Driver’s License for company vehicle use

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with GIS software systems/mapping systems for fiber network documentation, ideally 3-GIS

  • Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, testing, and restoration

  • Working knowledge of ROW rules, permits, and municipal coordination

  • Experience in critical environments such as data centers, POPs, or central offices

  • Fiber installation or manufacturer certifications

  • Experience with GIS systems, Visio, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office tools

  • Familiarity with CAT3, CAT5, CAT6, single-mode, and multi-mode fiber
