Job description

Join BCT as a CNC Turning Programmerโ€“Machinist

Blast Cleaning Technologies, Inc. (BCT) leads the industry in shot blast innovation and continues to grow by putting customers and craftsmanship first.

Compensation highlight: $4.00 shift premium.

A day in your life at our historic West Allis facility

You start your shift with fresh coffee in hand, walking past our recently upgraded, historic shopโ€”more than $2 million invested to modernize while preserving character. After a quick hello to our accessible, hands-on CEO, you pull up the dayโ€™s drawings and plan your approach to complex turning work.

  • Translate prints into efficient toolpathsโ€”write and edit G- and M-code directly or generate programs in Mastercam (or comparable CAD/CAM).
  • Design and set up the right fixturing, mount tools and workholding, and dial in offsets on Mazak or Haas lathes (2โ€“4 axis) and mills as needed.
  • Calculate spindle speeds, feeds, and depths of cut; select cutters; and establish safe, repeatable sequences.
  • Run first-article parts to print, measure critical dimensions with gauges and precision instruments, and make fine adjustments.
  • Verify parts meet specifications before handing them off to inspection.
  • Perform routine maintenance, change tooling, and keep machines production-ready.
  • Support production runs with reliable setups and clear documentation.
  • Model BCTโ€™s culture and core values on the floor, sharing knowโ€‘how and helping teammates problem-solve.

Note: Duties may evolve; we value flexibility and continuous improvement as production needs change.

What you bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years programming parts in Mastercam or longhand G/M code.
  • 4+ years setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills.
  • Manufacturing background; foundry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read prints and lay out features from drawings.
  • Self-driven, organized, detail-focused, and comfortable with computers.
Tools and technologies youโ€™ll run
  • CNC Lathes (2โ€“4 axis) โ€” Mazak, Haas; plus 5โ€‘axis turning exposure.
  • CNC Mills (3โ€“4 axis VMC, Fanuc) and 5โ€‘axis VMC (Fanuc).
  • Mastercam CAD/CAM.
  • Precision metrology for advanced inspection and gauge measurement.
Core skill set
  • CNC tooling selection and setup/changeover for production.
  • G-Code and M-Code programming/editing; manual machining fundamentals.
  • Equipment troubleshooting and process optimization.
  • Reading tapes/measuring tools; layout; first-article validation.
Why youโ€™ll love working here
  • We reward impact: Highly competitive pay for skill and talent.
  • 401(k) with match: Employer match up to 6%.
  • Medical coverage: BCT covers 90% of premiums with low deductibles, zero coinsurance, and broad networks.
  • Paid time off and holidays: Generous PTO plus many paid U.S. holidays.
  • Casual environment: Laidโ€‘back dress and a friendly, collaborative shop.
  • Historic workplace: Work in our upgraded West Allis location.
  • Innovation culture: We reinvestโ€”our cuttingโ€‘edge foundry is one example.
  • Amenities: Free coffee and popcorn, summer cookouts, and more.
  • Keep learning: Tuition reimbursement and ongoing skills development.
  • Engaged leadership: Youโ€™ll knowโ€”and be known byโ€”our ethical, hardโ€‘working CEO.
  • Second chance employer: If you bring skill and work ethic, weโ€™ll back you.
  • Onsite HR & IT: Real people, not a 1โ€‘800 number.
  • Veteran support: We honor and support those whoโ€™ve served.
  • Made in America: Every component is built in the USA.
