Job description

Armed ACT 235-Certified Security Officer

Armed Security Officer 

Location: McKeesport, PA 

Schedule: Part-Time | Weekends | Overnight

**Must also have as needed availability for extra shift coverage**

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour 

Job Description: 

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Armed Security Officer to join our professional security team in McKeesport, PA. This position is responsible for providing armed security services to ensure the safety and security of our client’s property, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in armed security, a valid Act 235 Certification, and the necessary equipment to carry out the duties of the role. 

This is a part-time, weekend shift offering competitive pay at $22 per hour

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Armed Security Protection: Safeguard clients' facilities and employees by maintaining a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Patrol & Monitoring: Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure security and safety, including checking doors, windows, gates, and perimeters for security vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Response: Respond to alarms, emergency situations, and disturbances; take appropriate action as necessary to neutralize threats or resolve incidents.
  • Reporting: Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and security-related observations in detailed reports. Ensure all activities are recorded in compliance with company policy.
  • Public Interaction: Provide a professional and approachable demeanor when interacting with visitors, employees, and contractors, while enforcing company rules and regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to act swiftly and decisively in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fires, or criminal activity.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the firearm, holster, and duty belt to ensure they are operational and in good condition.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Act 235 Certification (Required).
  • Valid License to Carry a firearm in Pennsylvania.
  • Must own a firearm, holster, and duty belt.
  • Previous armed security experience (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to identify potential threats or hazards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for incident reporting.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must pass a background check.
