About the Opportunity:
 
As a Lead Geospatial Engineer, you will lead the development of real-time geospatial database content that supports advanced simulation and training programs. You'll collaborate with a talented team to design innovative GIS and 3D visualization solutions while providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
 
What You'll Do:
 
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of real-time geospatial database solutions for simulation and training applications.
  • Provide technical leadership by assigning, coordinating, and reviewing work while mentoring and supporting team members.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality GIS, 3D modeling, and visualization products that meet customer and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver innovative solutions aligned with project goals, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure technical solutions comply with organizational processes, quality standards, and established development practices.
  • Identify and implement creative solutions to complex technical challenges in a fast-paced development environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS/Earth Science or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Image Science, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing/Data Fusion, Geo Imaging/Processing, Spectral/Imagery Analysis, including:
    • Geospatial data source related simulation, training, and scenario development. 
  • 5+ years' experience in creating moving and static 3D models, in software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, or Creator
  • Min 1 year of experience in project leadership, team management, and oversight of teams. 
  • 3+ years of experience in executing projects through the full development lifecycle, from requirements through customer acceptance
  • Min 1 year of experience with technical proposal support, project execution, and applied project management.
  • 3+ years of experience defining and executing business processes
  • 3+ years of experience in Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Scheduling
  • 3+ years of experience authoring white papers and technical presentations a benefit
 
What Sets You Apart:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in the acquisition and manipulation of a wide variety of common aerial and satellite imagery, elevation data, and vector data
  • Experience in Photoshop, primarily in image clean up, and color correction
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Experience in database creation for multiple image generation systems, such as Aechelon, MetaVR, Vital, or Quantum3D
  • 5+ years' leading team development efforts
