Job description

Senior Piping Estimator position in the Orange County Area, CA This is a permanent, full time position with a great salary and benefits package. Responsibilities: Utilize Excel and On-Screen Takeoff (OST) Estimating software to build accurate estimates of materials and labor for current and upcoming projects. Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to get best pricing and timing of completion and material deliveries.

Coordinate with General Contractors, Owners, other Subcontractors to fully understand scope of work and also discuss project specifications, coordination, and costs. Look for areas to create value engineering and prefabrication opportunities on projects. Assist Chief Estimator with piping portion of final estimates prior to submittals.

Maintain updated database of material and labor pricing. Mentor, evaluate performance, and train junior- and mid-level piping estimators. Attend preconstruction meetings, job walks, and other meetings as needed.

Requirements: 7+ years of piping estimating experience. Advanced Excel, BlueBeam, and OST software knowledge. Large commercial/industrial project experience working on plan-spec, design-build, and negotiated piping projects.

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management preferred. Stable work-history.
