What you will do

You will participate in a variety of projects for clients in the financial services industry, including banks, credit unions, pension funds and the asset management arms of insurance companies. Based on client needs, you will work closely with partners and directors on engagements related to the following areas:

  • Capital markets business activities (e.g. sales and trading, origination) as well as banking treasury management (e.g. cash management, liquidity management, hedging).
  • Governance and modelling of market / counterparty / liquidity / interest rate risk as well as the related regulatory expectations such as FRTB, IRRBB, SA-CVA & CCR.
  • Operations supporting capital markets and investment management activities such as front-to-back process review / optimization and function assessment of technology solutions.
  • Investment and portfolio construction activities covering both public markets (fixed income, equity markets) and private markets (infrastructure, real estate, private equity, private debt);
  • Investment risk management, governance, and modeling for asset managers (market, credit, counterparty, liquidity, leverage, and concentration risks);

During these engagements, you will be called upon to:

  • Plan and oversee project delivery and follow-up activities;
  • Take a leadership role in the preparation of deliverables;
  • Quickly grasp the concepts and issues at the core of client needs and propose solutions or areas for improvement;
  • Interact effectively with other team members and clients (internal and external);
  • Ensure that proposed business solutions are aligned with the institution’s strategic framework;
  • Clearly and concisely communicate analytical findings to various stakeholders.

What you bring to the role
  • A graduate degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Financial Economics, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in banking or investment management. Consulting experience is an strong asset.
  • A professional designation such as CFA or FRM is considered an asset;
  • Advanced proficiency in Powerpoint and Excel
  • Knowledge of a programming language (e.g., Matlab, Python, VBA, R);
  • Knowledge of technology platforms supporting the investment industry (e.g., Numerix, Bloomberg, Eagle, Murex, SimCorp) is considered an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
