Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
Business Intelligence Developer
Constellation seeks a BI Developer to join our Homeland Security Team in Washington, DC. This role requires advanced dashboarding and data analysis skills. The developer will design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards that integrate operational and financial data to create meaningful, actionable insights for stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of SQL, Power BI and coordination with other developers for extraction, transformation, and loading of data. This position is client-facing and requires excellent communication to translate complex technical outputs into clear business value.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, maintain, and automate dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI and other visualization tools.
  • Design, build, and maintain data ETL pipelines from sources such as SQL databases, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Optimize and refine existing SQL queries and dashboards while maintaining accurate documentation for client dashboards and associated SQL queries.
  • Collaborate with clients and technical resources to understand and integrate business requirements into effective data visualizations.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, digestible insights for stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports and dashboards.
The ideal candidate must have the following experience, background, and credentials:
  • At least 4 years of experience working with large datasets in a Data Visualization tool like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL including query optimization, common table expressions (CTEs), and complex joins for deep-dive analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for standard data analysis tasks (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to gather requirements, present solutions, and translate complex data findings into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, with major in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field preferred
  • Be a U.S. citizen able to pass a background investigation by the client agency. DHS clearance with CBP or ICE preferred.
  • Experience developing in Python (Pandas) for data analysis is preferred. 
  • Experience developing PowerApps and Power Automate solutions is preferred.
