Job description

Job Summary: The Facility Maintenance Technician (Level I) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work cross functionally across every area of our facilities, allowing the Technician to have a direct impact on PADNOS's overall performance. The primary responsibility of this individual is to maintain and repair facilities equipment and assets. By leveraging technical expertise, the Facility Maintenance Technician will contribute to the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our facilities. From conducting routine inspections to troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues, this individual plays a crucial role in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
  • Performs basic maintenance tasks and cleans, inspects, and lubricates various equipment and assets.
  • Repairs, modifies, builds and rebuilds, and maintains facility equipment and fixtures such as overhead doors, windows, siding, walls, roofs, drains, and racking.
  • Installs, builds, and repairs water lines and air lines.
  • Unclogs, repairs, and installs drains.
  • Conducts routine inspections at all PADNOS locations to identify and address maintenance opportunities.
  • Changes oil and filter for air compressors.
  • Changes air filters on roof top units and air make up units, HVAC.
  • Repairs and installs concrete and asphalt.
  • Supports Level II Facilities Technicians in troubleshooting and repairing plumbing and HVAC opportunities.
  • Serves as a support function for Level II Facilities Maintenance Technicians with work orders.
  • Follows safety protocols and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities in CMMS (computerized maintenance management software - currently MainSaver).
  • Prioritizes customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service in the maintenance field, providing a prompt response to requests and prioritizing based on urgency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required/Desired Qualifications & Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:
Education, Training, and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Plumbing or carpentry certification a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Basic welding/pipe filing experience required.
  • 1-2 years of basic carpentry experience required (hammer, screwdriver, tape measure, chisel, handsaw, power drill, miter saw, router, claims, level, etc.)
  • Experience using precision and measuring tools (caliper, multimeter, infrared thermometer, gas detector, etc.).
  • Experience operating general construction equipment (skid steer, backhoe, jackhammer, etc.).
  • Must have a valid Driver's license

  • Must excel at managing time efficiently to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks based on urgency.
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail to ensure all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.

Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel frequently between worksites to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally ascends or descends ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
  • Must be able to occasionally accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds in all directions, and occasionally 100 pounds.
  • This position does require repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • This position does require occasional use of machinery and/or power tools, and will frequently require operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
  • There will be occasional exposure to low temperatures, high temperatures, outdoor elements (such as precipitation or wind), noisy environments, hazardous conditions, poor ventilation, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
