We are looking for a Benefits Analyst to join our growing team!

This position will be responsible for the administration and ongoing support of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, and other wellness and voluntary benefits. This role focuses heavily on benefits enrollment administration, process auditing, data integrity, and reconciliations to ensure accurate employee elections, payroll deductions, vendor eligibility files, and carrier billing.

The Benefits Analyst serves as an HRIS and benefits systems expert, leveraging technology to streamline processes, maintain compliance, resolve data discrepancies, support open enrollment, and provide reporting and analysis that drive operational efficiency and an exceptional employee experience.

***This position is currently part-time; must be able to work an average of 20 hours per week. Flexible working hours. Located in Albuquerque - Strongly Preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Works with Benefits Manager to ensure all benefit materials and processes are consistent and in compliance with internal policy, federal, and state regulations.
  • Assists in handling enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, and compliance testing.
  • Receives and reviews monthly and ad hoc invoices; identify inconsistencies and works with vendors to resolve.
  • Audit Affordable Care Act processes and ensure compliance with ACA requirements.
  • Oversees vendor integrations with HRIS system.
  • Coordinates materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to employees and field HR staff.
  • Conducts regular audits and report on metrics, trends, and compliance. Participates in external audits and assessments.
  • Assists with leave administration processes.
  • Assists with benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required.
  • 3 years' experience in benefits field required.
  • Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
  • Workday HRIS experience strongly preferred.


Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation

  • Current HR certification preferred.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.
