Position Responsibilities

  • Precision Excavation: Excavate line and grade for mainline waterline, sewer, storm drain, and water pipe according to project plans.
  • Utility Safety: Masterfully excavate around existing utilities with high precision.
  • Technical Implementation: Understand and execute trench depth, grade compaction, pothole procedures, and pipeline installation.
  • Safety Leadership: Act as the OSHA Certified Competent Person for trenching and shoring; implement rigging and shoring practices to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Equipment Care: Maintain thorough knowledge of equipment maintenance to ensure fleet reliability.
  • Project Oversight: Read plans accurately and keep the crew organized and on task to meet goals and deadlines.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in mainline excavation and pipe utilities.
  • Certification: OSHA Certified Competent Person for trenching and shoring.
  • Attitude: A positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to follow supervisor directions.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Compliance: Must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing (Drug-Free Workplace).
