KLS Earthworks & Environmental is hiring a Excavator Operator. We are looking for a professional who is enthusiastic and safety conscious to work full-time in Calgary. Reporting to the Supervisor the operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment while excavating and working around other ground crew.

What You'll Do

  • Operate the excavator and other heavy equipment in a safe manner
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on the equipment; including lubricating and cleaning
  • Read and interpret ground markings to ensure proper depth to grade is followed
  • Ensure the trench is excavated to the proper grade and depth; maintaining OH&S requirements
  • Identify any underground and overhead utilities prior to beginning work
  • Willing to assist ground crew when machine is not in use

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience operating an excavator
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Willing to work out of town as required
  • Ability to work long hours with some weekends and overtime
  • Must comply with KLS' no tolerance policy and complete the pre-employment drug & alcohol and fit testing
  • Strong critical thinking, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
