Rogers Group is currently seeking an Experienced Utility Operator at our Hollywood Quarry in the Alabama SMA, reporting to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.
Job Details:

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plant repair; maintain crushers, conveyors, and screens.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues with quarry equipment, including hydraulic failures, electrical malfunctions, and engine problems.
  • Fabricate parts/weld broken parts needed for repair of the plant
  • Perform servicing and general maintenance for all areas of the plant
  • Regularly inspect all quarry equipment for signs of wear, damage, or potential failure, including belts, bearings, hydraulic lines, and electrical components.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
  • Operate Excavator/Skid Steer/Loader as needed
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:
  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an Excavator or Loader Operator required.
  • Previous Quarry experience required
  • Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed.
  • Previous fixed plant maintenance or related industry experience is required.
  • Experience in fabricating, cutting, and welding is required.
  • Able to do safety and maintenance inspections throughout the day.
  • Capable of demonstrating equipment and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens preferred.
  • Ability to understand basic safety and work instruction.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Good organizational, scheduling and time management skills.
  • Welding experience is helpful along with general maintenance and repair abilities.
  • Experience in heavy equipment operation a plus but not required.
  • Team player mentality.
  • Working outdoors in varied weather conditions with the probability of dust, noise, heat, and cold.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
