Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Career Services the Career and Internship Specialist develops and implements career services for Career Services. Primary responsibilities are to ensure the various constituencies of the campus are engaged in professional and academic activities, to facilitate career readiness, experiential learning, and career development. The Career and Internship Specialist serves as a member of the Career Services staff to effectively provide valuable experiential learning to undergraduate students.
Responsibilities

Coaches students on resume/cover letters and provides guidance regarding experiential learning and internship search strategies

Conducts one-on-one career coaching appointments with students providing consultation on career exploration, job search strategies, interview preparation and LinkedIn profile navigation

Maintain tracking system for student experiential learning experiences; provide experiential learning data and analysis for program reporting; generate reports as requested and assist with tracking program outcomes

Facilitates classroom presentations on various career development topics

Plans and coordinates events and campus outreach

Builds and maintains positive working relationships with Academic Internship Coordinators, with students seeking and participating in academic internships, and with all faculty and staff whose work intersects with academic internship opportunities including managing the memorandum of understanding (MOU) process

Grades assignments in online career development course

Proactively promotes experiential learning and career services by collaborating with other internal departments - working with student leaders, student organizations, program managers and student engagement leaders

Represents Career Services on school-wide committees; performs other duties as assigned; works weekends and nights as needed
Required Qualifications
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 or more years of relevant experience in customer service, workforce development, student engagement or higher education

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual - fluent in English and Spanish
  • Experience that has provided insight into career foundations
  • Familiarity with career management systems and Banner is a plus
  • Demonstrated record of successful collaborations with internal and external stakeholders

Proposed Salary
$42,100 - $50,500; Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
