Job description

Position Summary:
  • The Housekeeping Associate, under general supervision, performs cleaning functions as assigned to provide a clean, germ-free environment for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Performs cleaning tasks in assigned areas, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness by utilizing the Seven Step Cleaning procedure on a daily basis. The Seven Step Cleaning Procedure is as follows: empty trash, high dust, damp wipe horizontal surfaces using germicidal cleaner, clean bathroom, dust mop, wet mop, inspect room for cleanliness.
  • Has access to clean supply areas including, but not limited to IV solutions, needles, and syringes for the purpose of obtaining and restocking linen and/or supplies.
  • The job duties are to assist indirectly in providing patient care by insuring a safe, healthful, and pleasant environment.
  • Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange work-related information.

Shift:
Full-time, Evening shift (40 hrs per week)
3:00pm - 11:30pm
Every other weekend required
Location: Suburban Hospital,
8600 Old Georgetown Rd, Bethesda, MD 20814
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, can be subbed for 3 months relevant experience
  • 6 months relevant experience, in a hospital setting, preferred

Salary Range: Minimum 18.27/hour - Maximum 27.13/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
