Job description

Basic Function and Overview:

The Custodial Team provides an outstanding experience for our guests. They are responsible for cleaning and maintaining public and office areas including washrooms as well as answering guest queries. This is a physical position requiring manual labor, lifting, and carrying.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean and maintain lodge areas, public area bathrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Empty and clean all waste receptacles and transport waste to dumpsters.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and scrub floors as necessary.
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety issues immediately to the supervisor.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
  • Wash windows.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Organizational and detail-orientated skills.
  • Great attitude and ability to communicate with guests when necessary.
  • Understand, follow safety procedures, and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands:

  • Physical ability to bend and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stoop and reach.
