What does an events producer do?

An Events Producer is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events such as conferences, festivals, corporate gatherings, and live shows. They manage all aspects of the event, including budgeting, logistics, vendor coordination, scheduling, and on-site supervision. Events Producers work closely with clients and teams to ensure that each event meets its objectives and runs smoothly. Their role often involves creative input, problem-solving, and ensuring compliance with safety and legal requirements.

What are some common challenges events producers face when managing multiple events simultaneously?

Events Producers often juggle several projects at once, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. A key challenge is balancing competing deadlines while ensuring each event meets client expectations and maintains high quality. Coordinating with multiple vendors, venues, and team members can also lead to logistical complexities, making clear communication and adaptability essential. Successful Events Producers use detailed timelines, regular check-ins, and collaborative planning tools to stay on track and manage stress.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an events producer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Events Producer, you need expertise in project management, budgeting, and event logistics, often supported by a degree in event management or a related field. Familiarity with event management software like Cvent or Eventbrite, as well as proficiency in tools for scheduling and communication, is typically required. Outstanding organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to remain calm under pressure help an Events Producer excel. These skills ensure successful event execution, efficient resource use, and memorable attendee experiences.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Salesforce integration developers in end-to-end delivery of integration solutions across enterprise applications and platforms.

  • Own sprint-level delivery of Salesforce integration workstreams - planning, execution, quality, and release - aligned to the integration architecture.

  • Collaborate with solution architects and business analysts to translate integration requirements into technical designs and implementation tasks.

  • Build and maintain APIs, middleware integrations, event-driven solutions, and data synchronization flows using Salesforce platform capabilities and integration tools.

  • Lead hands-on development using REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, or other enterprise integration platforms; set implementation standards for the team.

  • Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure integration solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Analyze the existing integration landscape (connectors, middleware, data flows, and SLAs) and propose modernization approaches - API-first, event-driven, middleware consolidation, or cloud-native patterns - with migration impact and roll-out plans.

  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Mentor and guide developers on Salesforce integration patterns, platform best practices, and coding standards.

  • Produce and maintain implementation-level documentation including integration flow diagrams, API mappings, runbooks, and test plans.

  • Coordinate with QA, DevOps, and release management teams to support testing, deployment, and production support activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in Salesforce development and integration, with at least 3 years in a technical lead capacity.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce Platform capabilities.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce APIs, Apex, Lightning Components, and integration frameworks.

  • Experience building and delivering integrations using middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, or similar.

  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, SOAP services, ETL processes, and data integration patterns.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments; able to manage team workload across sprints.

Preferred Skills
  • Salesforce Platform Developer or Administrator certification.

  • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform implementation experience.

  • Event-driven architecture implementation (Kafka, Pub/Sub).

  • API management and gateway configuration experience.

  • OAuth, SAML, JWT, and security protocol implementation experience.

  • CI/CD and DevOps practices for integration pipelines.

  • Salesforce Integration Architect or Application Architect certification (desirable, not required).

Experience
  • 8-12+ years of overall IT experience.

  • 3+ years leading Salesforce integration delivery teams in enterprise programmes.
