Job Description
We are seeking a talented freelance Videographer who excels in capturing the essence of diverse events and dark environments. While we appreciate a range of cinematic styles, we seek realistic or semi-vivid styles that highlight genuine moments and emotions. Our focus is on media that reflects authenticity, free of artificial compositions that notably alter the captured scene.
Freelancer Status Notice
Please note that this role is strictly an independent contractor position. Freelancers are not employees of Barks and Rec or its vendors and partners. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for managing your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws. This role does not include employee benefits, workers' compensation, or other employment-related provisions.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for covering the main event space by capturing the dynamic energy and key moments as they unfold.
Delivery
Delivery of a final color-corrected and uncut video is expected within 1 week following the event. We require the videos to be provided in high-resolution 4K quality.
Use of Videography by Barks & Rec
Barks & Rec shall receive a commercial and non-transferable license to use and modify the provided videos. This license allows for the use and modification of videos in marketing materials, online platforms, and other forms of communication and promotion. Barks & Rec agrees not to sell, lease, or transfer these rights to any third party without prior written consent from the Videographer.
Videographers Rights
The Videographer retains all personal and artistic rights to the provided photographs. The Videographer is granted the perpetual right to use the videos for their professional portfolio, self-promotion, videography competitions, educational purposes, and other showings. This right is subject to reasonable privacy considerations for the attendees captured in the videos. The Videographer agrees not to use the videos in a manner that negatively impacts Barks & Rec's reputation, nor that of Barks & Rec's partners, vendors, guests, or affiliated parties.
Requirements
Experience: Prior experience in event videography is desirable. However, enthusiastic amateurs with a proven eye for compelling videography are also welcome to apply.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using professional videography equipment, including DSLRs or mirrorless cameras, and adeptness in video editing software.
Artistic Sensibility: An understanding of composition, lighting, and color to create visually striking scenes. Familiarity with different cinematic styles and trends is a plus.
Professionalism: Reliability in adhering to scheduled events, maintaining a professional demeanor, and collaborating effectively with event organizers and participants.
Communication: Strong communication skills to understand client needs, provide clear direction during shoots, and effectively manage expectations.
