Job description

Under general supervision, this role serves as the City's primary authority and single point of contact for city-produced and third-party special events, public gatherings and public space permits. The position fully takes over the end-to-end administration, strategic planning cross-functional sign-offs, and operational leadership of events to relieve executive leadership and department directors (including Parks & Recreation, Leisure Services and Destination & Event Services) of routine event coordination, inter-departmental alignment, and administrative sign-off burdens. The position oversees the entire life cycle of municipal events, administers public space permits, chairs the Special Event Application Review Committee, acts as the primary liaison between city leadership, municipal departments (Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks & Recreation), and external stakeholders, and manages event budgets, vendor relations, volunteer programs, and venue compliance.

Reports to the Director of Destination & Events Services. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree (Public Administration, Business Administration, Hospitality, Event Management, or related field) and five (5) years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. CPR and First Aid certification required.
