Allied Universal® is hiring an Event Supervisor - Operations Support to work some of the biggest events in San Diego. We offer flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and earn $20.50/hour. Apply today!

The Event Supervisor - Operations Support is primarily responsible to assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution. However, as needed this position is also responsible for providing branch-level scheduling and logistics support.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for Event Services Staff assigned to his/her shift and/or event
  • Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for personnel have been met
  • Maintain overtime to a minimal or preset requirement designated by AUES
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting event staff personnel and their job performance when assigned to his/her shift and/or assigned event
  • Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., scheduling, payroll, review and maintain incident reports, event orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision
  • Respond to client requests
  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Event/Post Orders
  • Provide direction and instruction to subordinates in regard to the performance of their duties
  • Makes productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Makes recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders
  • Assists in all aspects of event day preparation and execution
  • Allows appropriate entry into each venue, may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, direct traffic coming in and out of the venue
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the policies, procedures and regulations of different venues, facilities, and events
  • Initiate a genuine, friendly, and personal greeting to our guests as they arrive at the facility entrance, aisle, concourse area or other location and offer a sincere "thank you" to complete each guest encounter
  • Provide guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience; ensure interactions with guests include a smile and use of a natural speaking voice, including natural inflection and a friendly tone
  • Coordinate with the Branch Manager the staffing needs for all upcoming events; utilizing work order forms for accuracy
  • Schedule and confirm appropriate supervision and team members for each individual event; practices, promote, and ensure "Smart Scheduling"
  • Ensure each position/event is scheduled with a qualified licensed employee
  • Immediately communicate with the Branch Manager any concerns such as shortages, failure to schedule, personnel concerns, etc.
  • Capably utilize ABI for scheduling and to produce reports
  • Meet all contractual scheduled hours for event/site assigned to the Account Manager/Branch Manager
  • Schedule employees to work at the events/sites where openings exist
  • Build jobs into scheduling systems
  • Responsible for document retention and archiving processes
  • Support orientation and training of new employees on scheduling procedures
  • Work with all levels in the organization to identify, analyze and solve problems and create opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Manage the supply of logistics-related to the events to support the client and team members in the day-to-day general areas of uniform supply, configuration management, technical requirements identification, installation and maintenance of equipment, safety and documentation development and maintenance
  • Investigate potential risk and other matters of significance and provides and implements solutions.
  • Consult with the respective areas within the branch to understand the distribution networks and determines the logistics resources required to support equipment, safety, personnel and maintenance and order equipment appropriately
  • Provide overall guidance and ensures effective execution of logistics support within the field as well
  • Ensure effective management of Logistics Operations assigned radio equipment based on approval of each event that is required to support day-to-day operational requirements
  • Root cause analysis and problem resolution for all logistics operations
  • Ensure equipment is properly tagged and logged for tracking.
  • Attend staff meetings/close out meetings and training sessions
  • Submit/approve vendor invoices for A/P to process.
  • Drive company vehicle to transport equipment to the various work sites.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information and data.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior customer service or security work experience in a leadership role
  • Active CA Guard Card
  • Work history must include:
    • Excellent organizational skills that include the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
    • Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • Able to focus and multi-task in a busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. Includes being able to effectively manage multiple interactions with diverse personalities and engage them to perform at optimum levels
  • Must be highly proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Education, Business, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Security Management, or a closely related field
  • Prior human resources, recruiting, scheduling or logistics experience in a service industry business
  • Work experience conducting applicant sourcing, interviewing job applicants, and conducting employee onboarding in a high-volume setting
