Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer with strong expertise in cloud integration, enterprise application development, and IBM mainframe technologies. The role will focus on designing scalable solutions, modernizing legacy platforms, implementing cloud and event-driven integrations, and providing Level 3 production support.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to Agile teams and contribute to SAFe ceremonies, planning, estimation, and delivery activities.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud-based integration solutions using MuleSoft, Kafka, Azure Integration Services, and related technologies.
  • Develop and integrate applications using Java, Spring, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Support cloud migration, platform modernization, and integration initiatives across mainframe, cloud, distributed, and SaaS environments.
  • Design and implement highly available IBM z/OS mainframe application and platform solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, debug, and enhance COBOL, JCL, SORT, Assembler, REXX, and DB2 applications using Changeman.
  • Work with CICS, IMS, JES2/JES3, MQ, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, TCP/IP, and z/OS UNIX System Services (USS/OMVS).
  • Implement and maintain mainframe automation using IBM System Automation, IBM NetView, automation tables, policies, command lists, and event processing.
  • Support workload scheduling, batch processing, recovery/restart, monitoring, and self-healing automation.
  • Integrate mainframe platforms with cloud, monitoring, event management, ITSM, and API-based solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, automation definitions, dependencies, and recovery processes.
  • Provide Level 3 production support, troubleshooting application, batch, middleware, automation, performance, and availability issues.
  • Participate in on-call support for highly available production environments.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and optimize repetitive administration and application support processes.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, engineering, compliance, and information security standards.
  • Research, evaluate, deploy, and configure technologies supporting business and application needs.
Required Qualifications
  • 8–10 years of experience as an Application, Cloud, Integration, or Enterprise Engineer in complex environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, MuleSoft, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and message brokers.
  • Extensive experience with IBM z/OS and mainframe technologies, including JCL, REXX, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, CICS, DB2, IMS, JES2/JES3, MQ, TCP/IP, and USS/OMVS.
  • Experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS and IBM NetView, including automation policies, tables, message automation, event processing, resource dependencies, and command lists.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, preferably with managed integration services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, and Event Grid.
  • Experience integrating mainframe applications with cloud and distributed systems.
  • Experience supporting highly available production environments, including monitoring, recovery, restart, batch processing, workload scheduling, and automation.
  • Knowledge of Parallel Sysplex and workload scheduling tools such as IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS/ZWS).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications and LOS/LMS platforms.
  • Exposure to Databricks or data lake platforms.
  • Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and ETL technologies.
  • Experience in lending origination, servicing, or related financial services domains.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies.
