EVENT SECURITY GUARD- SCREENING & ACCESS CONTROL

 Are you passionate about Safety & Security and seeking an opportunity to join ASP’s Event Security Team? 

 A.S.P. Incorporated has provided security and customer service solutions for over 25 years to Canadian clients. We employ more than 1,500 employees and are a subsidiary of ICTS Europe, which currently operates in 24 countries and employs more than 18,000 security professionals worldwide. We provide services including security, customer service, K9 detection, concierge, and baggage handling to a wide range of clients such as residential properties, commercial facilities, retail spaces, as well as some of the largest airports in Canada.

ASP is looking for EVENT SECURITY GUARD – SCREENING & ACCESS CONTROL personnel for the Great Outdoor Comedy Festival in Mississauga. This is a fully outdoor event operating in all weather conditions. Candidates must provide highly visible service in a professional, competent and courteous manner while demonstrating strong communication and customer service skills. This is an 8 day event including load in, load out and three show days.

 What you will do:

·        Work outdoors in all weather conditions, at times there may be no shelter in place

·        Stand or at times sit at a designated post or access point along an exterior property gate for up to 12 hours

·        Conduct bag and body searches at the front gate while performing wanding as well.

·        Conducting pat downs when required

·        At the direction of a supervisor, foot patrols on site with the potential of up to 10,000 steps in a shift

·        Work in compliance with OHSA, AODA, CCC, and PSISA regulations, etc

·        Be responsible for flashlights and radios

·        Perform other relevant functions as required

·        Engage in professional, collaborative, and proactive security services

·        Investigate, report, and respond to any incidents as required

·        Assist in emergency situations such as evacuations and medical incidents

Working Environment:

·        This is an outdoor position with some guard houses located at a few access points

·        Working in all elements of the whether including rain, high winds, sun and heat

·        Large crowds and loud entertainment

·        Standing /Walking for up to 12 hours

·        Large outdoor concert venue with only portable washroom access

·        Safety boots with a minimum 6” ankle required to be worn on duty

Who you are:

·        Must be 18 years of age or older

·        Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of security experience, tactical or events preferred

·        Eligible to work in Canada

·        Ability to work in a crowded environment, think critically, and work with a team

·        Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License

·        Must possess valid First Aid, CPR and AED certification (Standard Level C)

·        Must possess a valid Smart Serve Certification

·        Strong written and verbal communication, including radio use

·        Ability to work 12-hour shifts

·        Able to walk extended distances, including stairs, in all weather conditions

Competitive wages:

·        Wage range: $21/hour
