Summary of Job Duties:The Manager of External Event Operations assists the Sr. Director of Booking and External Events with the coordinating, planning and execution of various external events held within athletic facilities. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned events with a focus on building excellent client relationships and ensuring operational excellence throughout the planning process and event execution. The Manager of External Event Operations will provide event coverage for all assigned events inclusive of large-scale stadium or arena events.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for events is required.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an institution of higher learning

  • At least two years of experience in event management, facility operations, or hospitality/event sales and servicing preferably in a collegiate or professional sports setting

  • Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed to support booked events as the on-site manager and primary point of contact

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business, Hospitality, or related field

  • At least 2 years of experience within a college or professional public assembly facility setting

  • Experience in managing both large and small scale events/shows

  • Experience in client services, guest relations

  • Experience with facility management, A/V equipment, ticket scanners, magnetometers

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of facility rental agreements, insurance requirements, waivers, and risk mitigation strategies relevant to external event use

  • Knowledge of university policies, NCAA regulations, and Title IX implications related to third-party events on campus

  • Strong customer service skills across a wide range of stakeholders including but not limited to private companies, artist management, and live event promoters.

  • Experience with AutoCad or similar layout creation software

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to analyze financial records and prepare reports
