Position Overview
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager partners with the Food & Beverage leadership team to oversee daily operations across multiple dining outlets and banquet events. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining operational standards, supporting team development, and driving financial performance while creating a positive, engaging workplace culture.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, visible on the floor, and enjoys coaching team members while ensuring every guest receives a memorable dining experience.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
  • Assist in the daily management of restaurant, lounge, bar, pool, and banquet operations
  • Lead by example, providing exceptional guest service and fostering a culture of hospitality
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Food & Beverage team members
  • Monitor service standards to ensure consistent luxury guest experiences
  • Partner with culinary leadership to deliver seamless food and beverage execution
  • Assist with scheduling, labor management, and payroll accuracy
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations, food safety standards, and alcohol service requirements
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally while exceeding expectations
  • Monitor inventory, ordering, and cost controls to maximize profitability
  • Assist with outlet opening and closing procedures
  • Support special events, weddings, conferences, and seasonal resort activities
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout all Food & Beverage areas

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Food & Beverage leadership experience
  • Restaurant, hotel, or resort management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications

Working Conditions
  • This position operates in a dynamic luxury resort environment and requires regular interaction with guests, team members, and leadership across multiple food and beverage outlets. The role includes both administrative responsibilities and active floor leadership in restaurants, bars, banquet venues, and outdoor dining areas.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business demands require.
  • Frequent movement between multiple food and beverage venues and resort facilities throughout the workday.
  • Exposure to varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including seasonal temperatures, heat from kitchen environments, and occasional cold or inclement weather.
  • Regular exposure to moderate noise levels associated with restaurants, bars, banquet events, and commercial kitchen operations.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure while working in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to guest service needs, operational challenges, and emergency situations.
  • Compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards.
Physical Requirements

  • Walk extensively throughout the resort, including restaurants, banquet facilities, kitchens, storage areas, offices, and outdoor venues.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist while inspecting operations or assisting team members.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with or without assistance.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including computers, tablets, telephones, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity to handle paperwork, use electronic devices, and operate restaurant equipment.
  • Possess visual acuity to review reports, monitor operations, observe safety concerns, and ensure quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively in person and by telephone in environments with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Occasionally climb stairs and navigate uneven surfaces throughout the resort property.
  • Ability to work safely around commercial kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, hot surfaces, steam, and other operational hazards while following established safety procedures.
