Position OverviewThe Event Operations Manager is responsible for the seamless execution of all on-property events, including weddings, corporate meetings, social celebrations, and private dining experiences. Serving as the operational lead for banquet and event services, this role ensures exceptional service standards, precise coordination, and memorable guest experiences aligned with the elevated expectations of a boutique luxury hotel environment.
This position collaborates closely with the Sales & Events team, Culinary, and hotel leadership to transform event plans into flawless on-site experiences while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, presentation, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Event Operations & Execution
  • Oversee the setup, service, and breakdown of all banquets, meetings, and special events
  • Execute event orders (BEOs) with precision, ensuring all details are delivered according to plan
  • Serve as the primary on-site operational contact during events, ensuring seamless coordination between departments
  • Maintain exceptional service standards throughout all stages of the event experience
  • Ensure all banquet spaces, equipment, and service areas meet luxury presentation standards

Team Leadership
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise banquet servers, bartenders, and event support staff
  • Lead pre-event briefings to communicate service expectations, timelines, and guest details
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, hospitality, and teamwork among event staff
  • Monitor service performance and provide coaching to maintain elevated service standards

Guest Experience
  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve service issues with professionalism and urgency
  • Maintain a visible presence during events to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Build positive relationships with repeat clients, planners, and VIP guests

Operational Coordination
  • Partner closely with the Events/Sales team to review event details, timelines, and client expectations
  • Coordinate with Culinary regarding menu timing, special requests, and dietary needs
  • Ensure proper inventory, equipment readiness, and event setup according to specifications
  • Monitor labor and operational efficiency while maintaining service quality

Standards & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of banquet areas, storage, and service stations
  • Support sustainability and waste-reduction initiatives where possible

Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience in banquet or event operations within an upscale hotel, luxury venue, or fine-dining environment
  • Proven experience leading banquet or event service teams
  • Strong knowledge of banquet service styles, event setup standards, and hospitality etiquette
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to remain calm and solutions-oriented in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event operations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a luxury or boutique hotel environment
