Job description

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. EEI employees are required to work in office Monday-Thursday and have the option to work remotely on Fridays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SALES AND OPERATIONS MANAGER:

The Sales & Operations Manager supports EEI's event sales process by ensuring the successful fulfillment of all sponsor and exhibitor deliverables across EEI conferences and events. This position serves as the primary point of contact for post-sale sponsor and exhibitor support, managing inquiries related to registration, shipping, logistics, deadlines, and fulfillment while overseeing the event support inbox. The Sales & Operations Manager also partners closely with the accounting team to coordinate sponsor and exhibitor invoicing, monitor payment status, and respond to billing-related inquiries.

Other important responsibilities of the Sales & Operations Manager include:

Sponsor Asset & Digital Fulfillment:

  • Collect, review, and format sponsor logos, company descriptions, and other required marketing assets.
  • Create a centralized sponsor asset library and distribute approved assets to internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the fulfillment of digital sponsorship deliverables in partnership with the Event Technology team, including website listings and mobile app content.
  • Ensure sponsor assets are received, reviewed, and delivered in accordance with established deadlines.

Sponsor & Exhibitor Registration:

  • Oversee all sponsor and exhibitor registration activities, including registration code distribution, complimentary registrations, attendee updates, substitutions, and badge requests.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Registration and Event Technology teams to ensure accurate and seamless registration experience for sponsors and exhibitors.
  • Respond to sponsor and exhibitor registration inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Exhibitor Management:

  • Support exhibit hall administration by communicating exhibitor space assignments, booth configurations, and exhibitor logistics.
  • Communicate exhibitor guidelines, deadlines, shipping information, and move-in/move-out procedures.
  • Maintain exhibitor records and ensure timely completion of required exhibitor deliverables.

Sponsor Fulfillment & Event Operations:

  • Partner with the Event Operations team to coordinate fulfillment of all physical sponsorship deliverables, including branded attendee bags, water bottles, giveaways, signage, and other promotional items.
  • Develop and maintain sponsor signage grids and fulfillment trackers to ensure all on-site sponsor benefits are accurately produced and installed.
  • Support on-site sponsor and exhibitor needs during conferences and events, ensuring a high level of customer service and successful execution of sponsorship commitments.
  • Maintain exhibitor lists and ensure timely distribution to internal and external stakeholders such as event service contractors, A/V team, and external creative agency.
  • Assist with other Member Engagement & Events team tasks as required.

Sales & Renewal Support:

  • Management of lead lists and coordination of outbound prospecting campaigns.

REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Concentration in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related fields preferred.

  • 6-8 years of sales or trade show experience in a trade association, nonprofit, or events-focused organization preferred.

  • Proficiency with generative AI platforms for data analysis, content creation, or other business applications.

  • Demonstrated experience with data management: conference registration platforms (Cvent), email marketing tools, CRM or AMS platforms (netFORUM or Salesforce) preferred.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for role is $80,000-125,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. The role is eligible for a performance-based bonus.
