Summary

The role of the Plant Operations Senior Manager will support the Plant Director in all aspects of Plant Operations including Safety, Quality, Culture, Cost, and Delivery. This position will oversee the sanitation department and be fully responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility (including microbiological performance). The Plant Operations Senior Manager will plan, direct, train, and execute on the Major Clean Up (MCU) activities and ensure the facility is at standards and on time to begin production after MCU.

This role will have direct involvement in raw product utilization and will work closely with the raw department to select raw product per the plant schedule that they help develop. The Plant Operations Senior Manager will manage bulk inventories as well as repack plans to ensure the facilities' inventory remains controllable. A successful candidate for this position will have a strong, measurable background in continuous improvement and will use that knowledge to help drive process improvements and training. This position is the right hand of the Plant Director and will cover all facility activities in their absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists with all safety initiatives, including active participation in the C.A.R.E. program.
  • Drives operational excellence in food safety and product quality.This role responds to customer complaints and develops procedures aimed at reducing repeat issues.
  • Helps foster a positive plant culture by listening to employee concerns and identifying solutions to everyday operational challenges. Supports employee training, development, and coaching efforts.
  • Leads raw product selection and partners closely with the Raw Department to ensure plant success throughout the year through effective management of raw storages.
  • Provides direct leadership to the Sanitation Supervisor and oversees all sanitation activities across the facility.
  • Follows the plant production schedule to ensure customer orders are completed and fulfilled on time.
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes all major cleanup activities, including the successful startup of operations following cleanup events.
  • Oversees repacking activities and drives overall packaging performance.
  • Supports a 24/7 operating facility. This role requires on-call availability, weekend support, and responsiveness during off-hours as needed.
Typical Education

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university

Relevant Experience

10+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

Travel is less than 10%, but some travel required.
