Position Summary
Event Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a professional, friendly, efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional experiences. At all times, event staff are expected to be attentive to guests' needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Staff embrace their role. They know their demeanor, attitude and actions play a large part in creating a pleasant atmosphere and guest experience. Event Staff work in close collaboration with colleagues and kitchen staff and must adhere to established health and safety standards. They also maintain the cleanliness, presentation and ambiance of the restaurant which is an integral part of the guests' experience.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, move, flip, and break down tables, chairs, bars and other event items in accordance with event floor plans to ready the space before, during and after each event. Assist with post-event cleanup, including furniture breakdown, garbage removal, and other closing list tasks
  • Assist guests in beverage selections, making recommendations, explaining tasting profiles, and answering questions
  • Mix beverages using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits
  • Prepare garnishes
  • Verify identification and age requirements of customers
  • Knowledge of wine, traditional and creative cocktails
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Serve the needs of multiple guests at the same time
  • Maintain and organize bar areas by removing glassware and being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Have an understanding of the event's offerings, ingredients, preparation techniques and available substitutions
  • Identify special dietary needs and allergies and communicate to captains & expo
  • Abide by sanitation, health and company guidelines concerning safety, cleanliness, safe food handling and alcoholic beverages
  • Observe and adhere to proper serving etiquette and techniques for the events team
  • Maintain service pace by removing or delivering courses as completed, replenishing utensils (if necessary), refilling water & wine glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Address guest concerns promptly, politely and positively and alert captains and management team of any/all issues
  • Attend meetings and trainings as requested by management, including pre-shift meetings
  • Assist with training of new staff
  • Adhere to cleaning, sanitizing, grooming, conduct and uniform standards
  • Prepare event space by setting up tables, chairs, bars, shelving and other collateral, setting tables, candles, napkins, service plates, glassware and utensils
  • Execute opening and closing procedures as directed
  • Be comfortable with extreme weather during service
  • Other duties as required
  • Cross-training in other areas of business as required
