Event Associate

Department: Retail & Community Engagement
Location: Philadelphia, PA and surrounding community
Reports To: Event Lead / Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Per Diem / Part-Time


Position Summary

The Event Associate is responsible for supporting community outreach, promotional, and sales events by representing the organization in a professional and engaging manner. This position attends assigned local events and retail locations, assists customers, distributes product samples, processes transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) system, and supports production operations as needed.

The Event Associate plays a key role in creating positive customer experiences, promoting products, and supporting event operations while maintaining a professional appearance and strong customer service focus.


Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvent Support
  • Attend assigned local events and promotional activities, including but not limited to:
    • Farmers markets
    • Sporting events
    • Local retail shops
    • Service plazas
    • Corporate offices
    • Community events and festivals
  • Represent the organization professionally and positively at all times.
  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and organization.
  • Ensure event displays and materials are maintained in an organized and appealing manner.
Customer Service and Sales
  • Support the Event Lead with sales activities and customer engagement.
  • Welcome and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide product information and answer customer questions.
  • Distribute samples and promotional materials to event attendees.
  • Assist with merchandise sales and inventory management during events.
  • Promote products and encourage customer participation and purchases.
Point of Sale (POS) Operations
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system using an iPad.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain proper cash handling and transaction procedures when applicable.
  • Assist in reconciling sales and transaction records as directed.
Production Support
  • Assist with activities within the production facility as assigned.
  • Support packaging, preparation, inventory, and other production-related tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures and operational standards.
General Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Required QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Experience
  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, events, food service, hospitality, or promotional marketing preferred.
  • Experience working with a POS system is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions
  • This is a Per Diem Part-Time position with hours based on event schedules and business needs.

  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.
  • Occasional travel between event locations may be necessary.
