Job description

One of my clients in Bronx, NY is urgently looking for a Sr. Network Engineer.

Hourly: $60 per hour (Independent 1099/C2C - No Vendors/Consulting Companies)

Salary after FTE: $100,000 - $120,000

Client Note: This is a 1 year contract-to-hire.

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

7-10 years of experience in network design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring (IPsec, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, IPv4)

4+ years of experience with:

  1. Cisco Collaboration / Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) and VoIP troubleshooting/design/configuration experience.
  2. Hands-on with Cisco FMC firewalls or Rubrik
  • Proficiency configuring and managing Cisco, Fortinet, and Nexus network devices (routers, switches, FMC firewalls, access points).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
  • Experience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi 6, WPA3) and cellular technologies (LTE/5G) a plus.
  • Disaster recovery experience preferred; video surveillance/camera systems experience a plus.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The Senior Network Engineer III will own the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization''''s enterprise network infrastructure across Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Meraki, Nexus, and Cisco UCS environments, along with VPN, firewall, storage, and wireless technologies. The role includes developing network standards/documentation, implementing security measures, supporting disaster recovery, and providing technical leadership across internal and external stakeholders.

TASKS:

  1. Design and maintain network architecture for LAN/WAN, including diagrams and site surveys.
  2. Configure and maintain Fortinet routers, Cisco switches, Meraki switches, Cisco UCS, Palo Alto, Nexus switches/access points, Cisco VPN, and FMC firewalls.
  3. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues to maintain high availability; escalate and resolve outages in a timely manner.
  4. Plan and implement network security measures to protect data and systems.
  5. Maintain network documentation and design standards in collaboration with internal/external teams.
  6. Provide weekly updates to senior management and staff.
  7. Provide weekend network support as needed for extended work or outages.
