Job description

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Richmond, VA 23219
Work Type: Onsite Only (No Remote or Hybrid)

Job Summary

This is a high-risk, high-visibility, and complex initiative requiring strict adherence to state project management standards. The role is fully onsite and demands strong leadership, risk management, and stakeholder coordination experience in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day management of the SVRS implementation
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, project team members, and agency staff
  • Attend and facilitate daily in-person and virtual project meetings
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, and performance metrics
  • Track and report project data using the Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) tool
  • Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Project Management (CPM) Standards
  • Maintain and manage the project calendar and deliverables
  • Conduct project status briefings for internal and external audiences, including oversight committees
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks

Required Qualifications

  • Active PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI-ACP certification
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale, high-complexity projects
  • Documented risk management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Highly Desired

  • Experience with Commonwealth Project Management (CPM) methodologies
  • Familiarity with CTP / Planview Enterprise One
