Job description

Position Title:             Ground Maintenance Laborer (11210)

Reports To:                 Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Position Location:      US Army, Camp Park Reserve Forces Training Area, Dublin, California Workdays/Time:        Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm, Occasional evening and/or weekend hours Hourly Wage:           $23.18 per hour, with benefits


Qualifications:


  • Must have a disability documented in writing by a physician licensed in the State of CA. as credentialed to diagnose and capable of diagnosing, the specific disability, or a written certification of disability by a CA State rehabilitation agency.
  • Must pass a government security clearance upon application as well as subsequent background checks and not be subject revocation of facility access during the term of employment.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License for the duration of employment.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience utilizing various ground maintenance equipment and tools such as tractors, riding lawn mowers, trimmers, weed eaters, edgers, forklifts, and other power tools and machinery.

Duties:

Typical duties may include and but not limited to the following:

  • Provide manual labor associated with the daily landscape and grounds upkeep maintenance that involves tasks like regular mowing, precise trimming around objects; bush and hedge trimming, raking leaves, and cleaning of storm drains. In addition, the removal of debris, leaves, and litter ensures a tidy appearance and minimizes potential hazards.
  • Perform moderate moving and transporting of items up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally moving or maneuvering heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers.
  • Perform inventories, retrieving goods/supplies and issuing tools.
  • Fulfill assigned physical duties as well as positioning oneself in a fixed area for periods of sixty (60) minutes at a time, removing/replacing items at various height levels up to 16’ feet from the ground.
  • Assist in performing routine general maintenance such as replacing HVAC filters and coils; replacing light bulbs; minor plumbing repairs such as leaking shower heads, clogged toilets, hanging fixtures, and minor carpentry repairs. Transporting furniture and/or equipment with the assistance of forklifts. Other routine repair/maintenance tasks as directed by journeymen. Any tasks that Management may deem to assign as business needs dictate.

Training:

Comprehensive training is provided to all workers. Job assignments are made according to entry skills and/or successful completion of various elements of the training program. Entry-level job assignments will normally be within the category of routine work.

Location:

Work will be performed indoors and outdoors at the US Army Camp Parks Reserve Forces Training Area in Dublin, California.
