Job description

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of an Associate's degree, two (2) years of directly related full-time experience or a combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years may be considered. One (1) year of directly related full-time experience in the field of audio visual and/or theatrical production.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional years (2+) of directly related full-time experience in the field of audio visual and/or theatrical production. Experience training other technicians. Experience with stage electrics, theatrical lighting design, audio systems for events, video and projection equipment, or stage management.
Brief Description of Duties:
Incumbents will set up and operate audio-visual equipment including projectors, sound systems, video monitors, and theatrical lighting. In addition to providing assistance in the various meeting rooms and lecture halls, the audio-visual technicians will also support events in the Charles B. Wang Theater.
  • Assist Production Manager:
    • Assist with execution of audio, video, or lighting systems for events (e.g. programming lights; creating lighting looks; mixing sound). At times, serve as lead technician and/or stage manager.
  • Maintain advanced audio-visual and theatrical equipment:
    • Focusing lights; upkeep and minor repairs.
  • Training Support:
    • Assist Production Manager in providing job specific training for student assistants.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes:
This is a part-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
Evening and weekend work will be required at times.
