LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
PLANNING, PARKS & RECREATION SERVICE LINE
POSITION SUMMARY
Spicer Group is looking to fill a full-time position as a landscape architect. Our goal is to complement our existing team with a passionate, creative and responsible landscape architect capable of working with a team as well as on their own. This position is perfect for those who love community planning, public outreach, and utilizing design skills. The position involves being able to develop, modify, correct and review drawings for landscape architecture projects according to established standards. Staff in this position must be able to act as the project manager and discuss objectives, requirements and budgets for all types of projects such as park and park facilities, historical buildings, municipal facilities, roadways, stream restorations and more. This is an exciting position that gives the successful candidate the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills as well as participate in opportunities to work with a variety of different clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as project manager and relays project information to both clients and project team
- Researches the requirements and can provide designs for unique projects
- Plan projects and develop conceptual plans for projects
- Develop final design and detail drawings for projects
- Develop construction specifications and contract documents for bidding
- Keep up to date with the constantly changing materials, technology, and regulations
- Make necessary changes throughout the planning, design, and construction process
- Develop solutions to technical problems with landscape architectural plans or drawings
- Field check designs to ensure the design meets the intent of the drawings.
- Assists clients in obtaining and administering funding for project through grant programs
- Develop master plans, reports, cost estimates and other related documents
Physical presence is an essential function of this role. Occasional travel and attendance at evening meetings may be required. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility does not preclude assigning duties not listed herein if such duties and responsibilities are a reasonable assignment to the position.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
- Ability to obtain Landscape Architecture licensure
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to lead and develop a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of previous experience in the field
- State Registration in Landscape Architecture
- Highly skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D
- SketchUp 3D software experience is preferred
- Photoshop, Illustrator software experience preferred,
- GIS skills preferred
- General plant and horticultural knowledge
- Problem solving, communication and good engineering and design skills
