Essential Functions
The Student Engagement Navigator supports enrollment initiatives and is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing student engagement programs that promote student involvement, leadership development, belonging, and support persistence and completion. The Navigator focuses on fostering a campus culture that engages traditional, non-traditional, commuter, dual credit, online, first-generation, and part-time students across all Coastal Bend College locations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and assess a comprehensive student engagement program that supports student belonging, leadership development, persistence, and completion.
  • Plan and implement campus-wide programs, traditions, cultural celebrations, educational workshops, leadership retreats, and student success initiatives across all CBC locations.
  • Support student organizations, including officer training, leadership development, event planning, budgeting, travel coordination, and risk management.
  • Assist with New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, Cougar Preview events, and student success programming.
  • Utilize student engagement data, surveys, participation tracking, and assessment measures to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support enrollment and persistence initiatives through intentional student outreach and engagement strategies.
  • Oversee Student Government and develop and maintain a student leadership recognition and awards program.
  • Partner with Residence Life to create living-learning and community-building experiences.
  • Support Residence Life Office.
  • Support Resident Advisor Leadership development initiatives.
  • Monitor student engagement trends.
  • Develop activities and events to engage students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree required.
    • Experience with rural community college setting.
    • Strong presentation, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
    • Proficiency with MS Office, higher education CRMs, and social media platforms.

Supplemental Information
Travel Requirements:
Some travel between sites may be necessary, as well as travel to conferences for training purposes.
Environment:
This position operates in a fast-paced, student-centered environment with frequent evening and weekend activities. CBC carts may be used for event support.
