Evening Rn Refresher Jobs in Montgomery, AL (NOW HIRING)

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I trauma Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and an active IL RN license.
Job Details
• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital designated as a Level I trauma center with burn center and comprehensive stroke center,
• Unit has 21 beds plus a rapid medical evaluation (RME) fast track area,
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4, flexing up as needed depending on volume, with RME accommodating up to 6 patients,
• Patient population includes general ER cases ranging from minor to severe, trauma, burn, and stroke patients, a large geriatric population with multiple co-morbidities, and some pediatric patients,
• 12-hour shifts scheduled 10A-10P covering day and evening hours,
• 36 guaranteed hours per week,
• Charge nurse coverage 24/7, taking patient assignments if needed due to staffing,
• ER techs assigned to each area to support patient care,
• Respiratory therapy manages all general RT equipment in the ER including ventilators, with RNs only expected to troubleshoot,
• Uses Epic EMR,
• Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift),
• Every other holiday required per the facility holiday schedule,
• No call or standby requirements,
• ER RNs do not typically float, but may assist other units for helping hands only due to Epic charting/training requirements,
• 13-week assignment length with a 12-hour cancellation policy per 13 weeks,
Job Requirements
• Active IL RN license required,
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required,
• BSN not required,
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS,
• TNCC or TNS certification preferred,
• Level I trauma center experience preferred,
• Epic EMR experience preferred,
• Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels as OSF is a Drug-Free Campus,
Additional Information
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and critical conditions including trauma, burn, and stroke patients,
• Administer common ER drips as part of patient care,
• 2 shifts (12 hours each) of unit-specific orientation required,
• Dress code requires professional scrubs in any color; hoodies are not permitted and t-shirts must have the OSF emblem,
• Local rate available for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility, though no radius rule applies to eligibility,
• COVID vaccination is not required for this position,
