Job description

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) supports student success by providing a reliable and innovative technology environment for students, faculty, and staff to improve teaching, learning, and support operations. The Department of IT Service Delivery and Academic Technologies key functional areas include Learning Management System; GradesFirst; Library System; Website & Website Applications; Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint, Power Automate and Power Apps; and Service Desk operations.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Executive Director IT Service Delivery and Academic Technology, the Microsoft 365 Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft 365 solutions that align with business and technical requirements. The position demonstrates a deep understanding of Microsoft 365s cloud-powered productivity platform, productivity applications and technologies, including SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, Teams, and Azure, to develop solutions that improve business processes, enhance collaboration, automate workflows, and support operational efficiency. Performs related duties as required.
This is a fully remote role; all duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed virtually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Works collaboratively with OIT teams and internal stakeholders, utilizing technical expertise to maximize Microsoft 365 business functionality and user experience by creating solutions that are tailored to specific business processes.
  • Writes and maintains documentation of system designs, code modifications, technical specifications, test plans, and test results.
  • Adheres to OIT Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and change control procedures.
  • Develops, implements, and supports external access to and transactions with other systems using application programming interfaces (API, macros, script/batch interfaces or electronic commerce solutions), especially via Power Automate.
  • Performs and supports M365 administrative tasks as needed.
  • Supports user departments in the creation of queries, dashboards, and custom reports.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and problem resolution during development, testing, and production support.
  • Tracks and shares new functionality as it is released from Microsoft.
  • Meets development schedules and timelines.
  • Serves as the resident expert for M365 solutions, providing guidance, technical consultation, and mentorship to team members and end users related to M365 tools and solutions.
  • Assists the Information Security team as needed regarding the safety and security of CCCs data within Microsoft and its applications.
  • Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence Standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or directly related field- OR -Bachelor's degree with a combination of relevant certifications and/or coursework such as software development/database architecture, and Microsoft specific training
  • Five years of relevant work experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibilities
  • Employees working remote are responsible for providing a stable internet environment with a connection speed of at least 300 megabytes per second (Mbps).
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education or large and/or complex institution preferred
  • Proficient in writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience analyzing, documenting, and improving business processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and implementing business solutions using SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power Automate, with a proven track record of automating workflows, streamlining operations, and improving business processes through custom solution development.
  • Ability to implement external access to and transactions with other systems using application programming interfaces (API, macros, script/batch interfaces or electronic commerce solutions)
  • Ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization and possess the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy

$127,986 - $140,784
Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity.
