American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is seeking a Network Administrator II to join our Information Technology-Operations department.
The Network Administrator II is a mid?level role responsible for supporting, monitoring, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. This position focuses on day?to?day operational support, incident response, and intermediate network changes under the guidance of senior network or security engineers. The ideal candidate has an intermediate understanding of networking concepts and a strong desire to grow technical skills in enterprise networking and security. This position is part of the operations on-call rotation.
Hourly Salary Range
American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $34.99 to $43.08 Hourly Wage Range.
Hybrid Worker Considerations
Hybrid Worker Guidelines: This position may be trained virtually or onsite and must have the capability to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This WFH position requires you to have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network. The internet connection must have a consistent 50 down/10 up Mbps minimum internet speed. 100 down/20 up is recommended to support higher quality video meetings. This position requires occasional onsite office work.
Responsibilities
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Proactively manage and monitor the network monitoring environment to ensure performance, availability, and timely issue detection using approved tools.
    • Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents and service requests across varying levels of complexity, from basic to advanced.
    • Configure and maintain network devices (switches, firewalls, wireless access points) on multiple platforms with minimal supervision.
    • Perform user access changes, VLAN updates, and port configurations following documented procedures.
    • Implement and maintain firewall rules, VPNs (site?to?site and remote access), and ACLs.
    • Implement required firmware updates and vulnerability remediation across network environment within required time frames.
    • Troubleshoot and correct wireless signal coverage, authentication, and performance issues.
    • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP exposure).
    • Troubleshoot connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless) and escalate to leadership as required.
    • Analyze logs, packet captures, and alerts to identify root cause.
    • Proactively identify capacity or performance risks.
    • Support cloud and hybrid network connectivity (Azure) with support from Network Engineers and vendor.
    • Use scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python exposure) for network tasks.
    • Support network-related projects and implementations with minimal supervision.
    • Follow change management and security policies for all network activities.
  • Provide Help Desk Escalation Support
    • Respond to escalated tickets from the service desk that require network admin support and follow appropriate ticket procedures.
    • Collaborate with other IT team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical support issues.
    • Perform other end user technical support as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Develops, maintains, and organizes documentation around systems, processes, and work instructions critical to day-to-day operations and systems design.
    • Provides updates as required for audit requests, both internal and external.
  • Training
    • Attends training classes and reads relevant technical documentation to stay current on technology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 2 years of experience focused on networking technologies required.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, and DHCP. (High proficiency)
