The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure production readiness, improve manufacturing efficiency, resolve technical issues, and deliver high-quality products supporting customer requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical troubleshooting skills, hands-on electronics manufacturing experience, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment.
This position is located in Warner Robins, Georgia and requires on-site support.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) production, repair, sustainment, and manufacturing across multiple defense programs, including prototypes, validation, qualification, FAIs, and production implementation.
  • Perform component-level troubleshooting and electrical testing of CCAs using schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and electronic lab equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, logic analyzers).
  • Analyze manufacturing defects, solder anomalies, component failures, and assembly non-conformances to determine root cause and implement corrective actions, leveraging X-ray/CT inspection and failure analysis techniques.
  • Lead and support engineering investigations for production defects, customer returns, depot repair findings, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain engineering documentation and configuration control, including repair and manufacturing procedures, work instructions, test procedures, technical reports, engineering drawings, and PLM-driven changes (ECRs/ECNs).
  • Participate in PCB design reviews (Altium or equivalent) with focus on manufacturability, repairability, and producibility.
  • Provide engineering support for robotics, automated assembly, automated inspection systems, conformal coating processes, and other electronic manufacturing technologies.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Test Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to resolve production issues affecting cost, schedule, quality, reliability, and customer commitments; support supplier evaluations and production readiness reviews.
  • Participate in RCCA, MRB, FRB, Lean/continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, standardize work, improve processes, and enhance product reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC workmanship standards, AS9100, customer specifications, and company engineering procedures while effectively interfacing with internal and external customers in technical reviews and readiness activities.

This position may be filled at either Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications Electrical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related STEM discipline with 2 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 0 years of relevant experience.
Basic Qualifications Principal Electrical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution and a minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience, or a master's degree in electrical.
Qualifications Required for Both Levels:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience supporting electrical engineering activities within manufacturing, production, depot repair, integration, or test environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interface control documents, engineering drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Experience operating standard electronic laboratory equipment including Digital Multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot hardware to the system, subsystem, and component level.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams consisting of Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production personnel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience troubleshooting Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) to the component level.
  • Experience using Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design software.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing systems, robotics, or automated inspection equipment, including X-ray and Computed Tomography (CT) inspection systems for electronics manufacturing, conformal coating application, inspection, repair, and associated manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721, and related electronics manufacturing standards.
  • Experience with SAP, MES, Teamcenter, or similar ERP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing process improvements utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience supporting customer technical reviews, production readiness reviews, and manufacturing qualification activities.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
