Location: Roselle, NJ (Hybrid Tutoring)

Availability:
  • Virtual: Monday-Thursday, 5:00-7:00 PM EST
  • In-Person: Two days per week at our Roselle site (with potential travel to additional locations; mileage reimbursement provided for travel between sites)

About Boxwood Learning Center, Inc.:
Boxwood Learning Center is a growing nonprofit with a mission to support youth on their pathway to success. We provide mentoring, test prep, and life skills workshops for individuals who have left traditional schooling for various reasons.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate instructor with strong technology skills to teach Adult Education classes. The instructor will help students prepare for their High School Equivalency exams (GED/HiSET) and transition to college or a career. Candidates should be proficient in tutoring at least two (2) of the following subjects: Science, Language Arts, Reading, and Math.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver engaging instruction in a virtual and in-person setting.
  2. Use online learning platforms and digital tools to enhance student engagement.
  3. Adapt and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  4. Follow established curricula, grading standards, attendance policies, and assessments.
  5. Maintain legal and ethical compliance in all instructional activities.
  6. Provide test prep support across all required subjects.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of tutoring or instructional experience (preferably in Adult Education, High School Equivalency, or high school-level subjects).
  • Strong digital and technology skills; experience teaching remotely via Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Must have a personal computer or laptop for virtual instruction.
  • Available for weekend, afternoon, and/or evening sessions.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Compensation:
  • Starting at $25 per hour
  • Up to 20 hours per week
