Job Description

Conversion of an existing Accounts Receivable system from Cobol/IDMS to web based Java/Oracle. Full life cycle development experience is required. Ability to transfer knowledge and bring new ideas and solutions to the project. This is heavy design, development and testing work. 

Qualifications

Required skills

The successful candidate needs at least 5-8 years of mainframe COBOL, IDMS/ADSO computer programming, systems design, and analysis experience. MVS, JCL, TSO are also required. VSAM experience is a plus.  A basic understanding of network concepts, PC operation, and productivity tools is required.

Preferred Skills

The preferred skills are 8-10 years mainframe computer programming (COBOL, IDMS/ADSO), design and analysis experience (with 2-3 years JAVA2, JSP/HTML, EJBs, Oracle 9i, Web Classes, Active-X, and other Web development tools). The preferred candidate has relevant experience with hierarchical, network, and relational database coding and design concepts. This candidate is comfortable in both mainframe and microcomputer environments and has experience in the area of web application development.
