Job description

Appointment Setter / Inside Sales Representative
Location: Tiffany Springs, MO
Employment Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Overview
Our client, a growing financial advisory practice, is seeking an Appointment Setter / Inside Sales Representative to join their team. This person will play a critical role in converting a steady flow of warm inbound leads into qualified first appointments for the advisory team.
Unlike a traditional cold-calling position, this role is supported by an established marketing engine that generates leads through radio, podcasts, and other marketing channels. Prospects have already raised their hand and expressed interest, allowing the Appointment Setter to focus on having quality conversations, qualifying prospects, and getting the right people in front of an advisor.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the phone, is confident and persuasive, builds rapport quickly, and is motivated by clear goals and measurable results. The successful candidate will use Salesforce to manage leads, document conversations, schedule appointments, and maintain a healthy pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and follow up with warm inbound leads generated through radio, podcasts, and other marketing channels
  • Conduct brief 10–15 minute strategy and qualification calls with prospective clients
  • Ask targeted questions to understand a prospect’s financial situation, assets, goals, and level of interest
  • Determine whether prospects meet the firm's basic criteria for a first appointment
  • Clearly communicate the value of meeting with an advisor and confidently ask for the appointment
  • Schedule qualified prospects for first appointments on the advisory team's calendar
  • Work toward a goal of at least 50 first appointments ("number ones") per month
  • Confirm upcoming appointments and proactively follow up with prospects to maximize show rates
  • Reschedule canceled or missed appointments and keep the pipeline full
  • Re-engage older leads and follow up with prospects who have not yet scheduled
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, notes, appointment details, and next steps in Salesforce
  • Manage daily follow-up tasks and prioritize new, current, and older leads
  • Communicate with advisors and the team regarding lead quality, appointment feedback, and scheduling needs
  • Help improve scripts, processes, and follow-up strategies as the team continues to grow
What a Typical Day Looks Like
A typical day for the Appointment Setter / Inside Sales Representative runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is centered around the phone and Salesforce.
The day begins by reviewing new inbound leads from the firm's radio and podcast marketing campaigns, along with follow-ups, reschedules, and outstanding tasks from the previous day.
Throughout the day, the Appointment Setter will speak with warm prospects who have already expressed interest in learning more. These conversations typically last 10–15 minutes and are designed to understand the prospect's situation, determine basic fit, answer initial questions, and position a meeting with an advisor.
Once a prospect is qualified, the Appointment Setter will schedule the first appointment, send confirmations, and complete the appropriate follow-up to help ensure the prospect actually attends the meeting.
The role also includes working older leads and "graveyard" leads, following up with prospects who previously did not schedule, and helping reschedule canceled or missed appointments.
Every interaction is documented in Salesforce, so the advisory team has accurate information before meeting with a prospect. The Appointment Setter will also regularly communicate with the team regarding lead quality and what is or isn't working in the process.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong phone presence and confident verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and establish trust with prospective clients
  • Experience in inside sales, appointment setting, telemarketing, call center, business development, or another phone-based sales environment
  • Comfortable leading conversations rather than simply taking messages
  • Strong listening and questioning skills
  • Ability to identify basic prospect needs and determine whether someone is a qualified opportunity
  • Comfortable asking for the appointment and overcoming light objections
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple follow-ups and tasks in a CRM
  • Comfortable working toward measurable activity and production goals
  • Resilient, positive, and motivated by performance-based goals
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in financial services, financial advising, insurance, or another professional services environment
  • Previous experience working with warm inbound leads
  • Salesforce experience or familiarity with another CRM
  • Experience scheduling appointments for sales or advisory professionals
  • Experience working with radio, podcast, digital, or other marketing-generated leads
Why This Role May Appeal To You
This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys sales and client conversations but does not want to spend their day making completely cold calls.
The firm's marketing efforts generate a consistent stream of warm prospects through radio, podcasts, and other channels, meaning the people you are speaking with have already shown an interest in learning more. Your job is to have the conversation, determine fit, and convert that interest into a qualified appointment.
The role also offers a clear connection between performance and earning potential. The position offers a $50,000–$65,000 base salary plus per-appointment commissions, with strong performers having realistic total earnings in the $80,000–$90,000 range.
For someone who is competitive, organized, and motivated by measurable results, this provides an opportunity to directly influence both their production and their income.
As the firm's scheduling team continues to grow, there is also potential for a strong performer to take on additional responsibility and eventually help support or mentor other schedulers.
Compensation
  • Base Salary: competitive
  • Commission: Per-appointment commission tied to qualifying first appointments
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
What Success Looks Like
The primary objective of this role is simple: convert more leads into qualified first appointments.
Success will be measured through:
  • At least 50 first appointments per month
  • Strong lead-to-appointment conversion
  • Consistent call and conversation activity
  • Strong appointment show rates
  • Effective rescheduling and follow-up
  • Accurate and timely Salesforce documentation
  • Consistent management of new and older leads
  • Ability to keep the advisory team's calendar full with qualified opportunities
How To Apply
Please submit your resume and a brief note explaining your interest in the position and your relevant phone-based sales, appointment-setting, customer service, or inside sales experience.
