Job description

Mom365, a leading newborn photography organization, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support employee relations, HR compliance, policy administration, and performance management. This role partners closely with leadership and employees to ensure consistent, legally compliant HR practices across a multi-state workforce.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in employee relations, HR investigations, employment law compliance, benefits administration, and performance management, and thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including multi-state requirements)
  • Maintain, update, and enforce the employee handbook and HR policies
  • Conduct employee relations investigations, grievances, and corrective action processes
  • Partner with managers on performance improvement plans (PIPs), disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Support performance management and evaluation processes
  • Administer HR activities related to employee relations, benefits, leaves of absence (FMLA/ADA), morale, and recognition
  • Provide payroll and employee processing backup support as needed
  • Process unemployment claims, employment verifications, and disability documentation
  • Develop and document HR procedures, workflows, and best practices
  • Assist with HR audits, internal communications, and special projects
  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee and leadership HR inquiries

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations
  • Experience supporting multi-state HR operations
  • Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with accuracy and discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar HR systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
  • Experience with multi-state payroll support
  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws (FLSA)
  • Experience with employee benefits administration
  • Familiarity with UKG Payroll and Time & Attendance systems
  • Prior HR lead or supervisory experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to access and navigate all departments at company facilities
